Hyennas are typically heavier, muscular, have very short tails and short traingle shaped ears. Plus the coloring of that photo is just like a Wild Dog.

Am I nuts?

ps sorry about the missing letterbox today :(

~LisaLaughing Orca Ranchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03562627840013868980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3898420772649186550.post-11328089161789773302009-03-20T18:12:00.000-06:002009-03-20T18:12:00.000-06:00Actually, it means the children of Banhof Zoo whic...Actually, it means the children of Banhof Zoo which is a train station in Germany. I took it from the autobiography, Christiane F., Wir Kinder Von Banhof Zoo, about a teen drug addict in the seventies who was crazy about David Bowie. I try to name all my posts with Bowie connections and since that had the word zoo... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christiane_F..Fantastyk Voyagerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15065772565014490544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3898420772649186550.post-78008074238311947022009-03-20T12:20:00.000-06:002009-03-20T12:20:00.000-06:00i had to ask my man, "is bahnhof zoo the zoo or th...i had to ask my man, "is bahnhof zoo the zoo or the bahnhof?" and he told me "the bahnhof" and i said "and what's the name of the zoo there?" uh, i guess it's just the zoo. but! i can say i've been to both the bahnhof zoo (bahnhof) and the zoo: ) you don't have to pay to go in berlin's zoo, you can just walk around the edges and see the animals, well, some of them. it was a great memory for me, being alone in germany my first time, wandering around berlin alone, scared, sunburned, but with good walking shoes and an ipod: )

~lythalythahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01719586193059362084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3898420772649186550.post-51266947367530697912009-03-19T11:24:00.000-06:002009-03-19T11:24:00.000-06:00Well you know, Fiona, after my stint as a Rio Gran...Well you know, Fiona, after my stint as a Rio Grande Zoo docent I'm aware of the Pinnepeds. lol! (Bark!! Bark!!)

You were so lucky to see the spotted hyenas! I'm envious. They are very shy nocturnal creatures and are usually hiding during the day.

Ooooh! I love the vulture exhibit. Do you know they designed it with Jurrasic Park 3 in mind? Remember the 'Aviary'? lol!
It's so cool walking through that chain link bridge withe the vultures above your head. hehe!

RapunzleLaughing Orca Ranchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03562627840013868980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3898420772649186550.post-17083705395956963192009-03-19T09:45:00.000-06:002009-03-19T09:45:00.000-06:00How interesting.
