ER- but not for me

Last weekend, my eldest son cut his head open, on the job. He was moving an air wall and it stopped rolling so he walked right into it. It knocked him out and he bled a lot. He went to the Emergency Room and they glued it shut. He took off work the next day because of a headache, but otherwise, is recovering nicely.
Last night, my youngest son went to a campfire with some friends and he stepped over a tree trunk into an open guitar case which caused him to roll his ankle. Today, I took him to the emergency room.

They did a brief evaluation and decided that it was probably just sprained. They fitted him with an air brace and crutches and made an appointment for tomorrow morning with his primary care doctor for a follow-up and, probably, an X-ray. That way, we don't get charged for a full emergency room visit.

It's coloring up really pretty, isn't it? Hopefully, tomorrow, we'll get good news, that it's a simple sprain and he'll heal up quickly.

Do you remember that it was almost a year ago when I spent time in the emergency room with a swollen, colorful ankle? I was riding Scout and he reared up and went over backwards on me. My ankle ended up being broken and I had to have surgery. I'm still recovering...

That doesn't sound like good week. Hope the boys are doing better this week.

Hope everyone recovers soon. I think I would rather have a broken ankle than a badly sprained ankle - maybe not.

I can't believe it's been a year since your unfortunate accident. I had just started reading your blog when it happened. I am so glad that's over (almost?) I hope the boys heal up quickly and get back to normal.

I think life is just a series of recoveries!

What bad luck!
So sorry to hear of the ER trips - ouch... for everyone!
I hope the ankle doesn't require anything more.
Be careful! No more accidents!
