I'm chameleon

Yalla! is starting to change color. But is seems to be concentrating on one side of her back. It's beginning to appear grayish smoky brown in certain light. It looks like an overlong saddle blanket mark. Isn't it strange? The other side hasn't changed from the light brown that it's always been. She looks mangy here, doesn't she?
All of her many scraps are turning black - it's either skin or black hair, depending on the location. She has lost all the hair around her eyes and muzzle now and her skin is all black there too. Is she going to turn all dark like her daddy? Or will she shed out to gray in the next year or two like her mom? I wonder.
I'm chameleon - song: The Bewlay Brothers, artist: David Bowie, album: Space Oddity

I love watching the color changes. All the tips are dark so she may be leaning toward a darker color.

I think that she is going to be dark and stay dark.

Our two fillies darkened at the age of three months, but both remain bay. I wonder too if Yalla! will be black or take after her mother! She is very beautiful.

Don't really know. Guess only time will tell. She's adorable no matter what color she turns.

It will be fun to watch the process and she's going to be a good horse. "A Good Horse is Never a Bad Color" (book by Mark Rashid).

Thank you all for the kind words! I think she is pretty, but then, I'm biased. haha.

Her daddy is a black bay- I can hope! Of course, gray would be fun, to see all the color changes she'll go through along the way.

It will be interesting to see what she does-color wise-her first year. You should know in another three to six months whether or not she will be turning gray or staying dark. Either way, she gorgeous! :)

Been a bit behind on blogging. Been checking in and catching up!

Looks like she's going to be dark, but with a grey mama she could go grey over the years. It'll be fun to watch!
