Interesting photos. I was wondering about the tangled metal sculpture, but a close look at it makes me think that it's made of bits of metal things that were found on the site and painted and assembled- old bumpers, and suspension parts.
You are so lucky to be close enough to visit here. I lone for ghost towns and love to explore the past.
