LOL, doesn't Yalla's face look LOOOOONG in this picture?
Yalla is probably asking,
Why are you doing that? Annie is saying,
This feels GOOOOD!
Now Yalla is thinking,
since you aren't paying any attention to me...

Such a darling! I can't wait to see her this spring and summer! Isn't it fun watching our babies grow?
That picture of Yalla watching her dam roll is soooooo cute!!!!!
Do the horses feel the cold? Even in mild Auckland, New Zealand, I see people put blankets on their horses.
Ann, thanks for visiting.
It's amazing how horses can grow thick winter coats practically overnight. The individual hairs will raise up and create a layer of insulation depending on need. A good rule of thumb is that if the snow accumulates on their backs then there's enough insulation and body heat is retained, not melting the snow. However, if the snow melts, then you know the body heat is escaping into the air and they are burning extra calories. That is why I blanket Annie on cold, wet nights and not the other horses. Her body does not maintain the level of insulation the others have.
Love the captions, especially the last one.
