It was quite white

"Forget red and blue — color America white. There was snow on the ground in 49 states Friday. Hawaii was the holdout.
It was the United States of Snow, thanks to an unusual combination of weather patterns that dusted the U.S., including the skyscrapers of Dallas, the peach trees of Atlanta and the Florida Panhandle, where hurricanes are more common than snowflakes.
More than two-thirds of the nation's land mass had snow on the ground when the day dawned, and then it snowed ever so slightly in Florida to make it 49 states out of 50."

This was taken from the MSN weather page. For the full article, please visit here.

What a strange winter, it's been this year! The winter olympics in Vancouver are having to truck in snow and Florida has had a dusting. I've had snow on the ground in New Mexico for well over a week now and it's the middle of February!

It has been a strange winter. Arkansas has been loaded down with snow. We rarely have this much and there is still some hanging on. I hope it is not hanging on for another one as my granny used to say.

One of the signs of global warming is more precipitation. People expect it to just get hotter, but it's more like more heat, followed by more precipitation, followed by more heat. So, the temperatures get more extreme.

Thanks for sharing this. Warming or not, that's a lot of snow.

I know I've had just about enough of this nonsense. We're due for 4-8 more inches tonight. They've got to do something about global warming soon. Our weather patterns are really getting out of whack.

What an interesting article. It has been a very strange winter! We've had snow FIVE times and normally rarely get one a winter. :) It's been fun but I hope next year goes back to normal. Thanks for sharing.

OMG - there is no escaping it!! :)

We got another blizzard on Sunday. Unpredicted. Probably only got a few inches, but wind was incredible with about 2' drifts again to the barn. Big pile-ups on the interstate due to white out conditions. It just doesn't want to quit this year!
