Free Spirits at Noisy Water

The following 'larger than life' bronze statues are in a park outside the Hubbard Museum of the American West in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Enjoy!

I love that set up they have for those horses. I've been there three or four times and driven by hundreds more and that setting never gets old.

It's neat, isn't it?
Only, I can't figure out how the Arabian got in there because all the other breeds are American. Probably should have had a Mustang instead.
And I don't know why the Standardbred and the Morgan are jumping. I think the Thoroughbred should be jumping and the Morgan should be still like the Justin Morgan's Figure statues. Nice write-ups about each breed though.

The museum looked quite interesting. We popped in as it was closing to use their facilities and snuck a little peek. I plan on going back.

Don't forget, this weekend is the 2 Million dollar All American Futurity Quarter Horse race in Ruidoso. Hmmm, thinking...

The museum is great and definitely worth another trip to Ruidoso. There's also a neat story about how these horse statues came to be and interesting pictures of them in production.

I'll have to make a stop there in October. Weird about the morgan pose, but I was struck by how many have ears laid back.
