Fascination

Yalla! is fascinated with everything! She also likes to chew on everything! The other day she had the yellow string, that's temporarily tieing the fence panels, in her mouth, and was chewing on 8 inches of it for about 5 minutes before she spit it all out.

She likes to play with the chain and snap too. I'll bet it won't be long before she learns how to open gates!

She likes to mouth her mama's tail too. I had to get a picture of this! It's hard to reach the ground when your legs are so long!I am fascinated with her coat. She has gotten quite fuzzy! But she has all these ripples in her coat. Look again at the first photo and you'll see all the ripples. It's also very noticeable in the next couple of photos. The top of her tail stands out in all directions too.

I am wondering what color she'll be when she grows up. I expect she'll turn gray but a tiny part of me is hoping for a bay. I don't see any white eyelashes and her face is very dark!

Yalla! is just being so silly! I just love her! Very curious.
I also can't wait to see what color she turns out! I am hoping bay too!
Love the picture of her butt in the air! So cute!

It almost looks like barring like the duns have! Butter has barring on her legs. Yalla has got a prominant dorsel stripe, too, doesn't she. Do greys have a dorsel stripe? Sometimes I know they go away on foals. Her tail is an interesting color, too.

My friend who breeds says she can usually tell if they will go gray with the hair above their eyes. Not so much their lashes, but where the eye brow would be.

I'm enjoying watching her even if it is virtually!

Babies are funny. Stormy had those ripples in her coat. They do go away when they shed D: oh well they are cute though.
I would be wary about her mouthing mama's tail. Try washing her tail in some tobasco sauce. It can be bad for mom (no tail in a very short time :O) and baby when you find her intestines packed with hair she accidentally ingested.

That's true about the impaction. I hadn't really thought about that. Thanks, I will dose her tail and the ropes too.

She sure is beautiful. And she seems to like getting into mischief. That's usually a sign of intelligence.

She is so cute, and such a cool color! Babies are very tactile LOL into everything! It kinda looks like she has Zebra stripes in that first pic LOL

Yalla's coat is beautiful, I agree.
My old Arab, Shadest, used to be able to get out of almost anything. He was so smart, and he would watch how you did something a few times, and then do it himself.

She is so super cute! My last filly had those funny lines all over her. They call it webbing. And Yalla does have leg baring. And a very nice dorsal stripe. She doesn't have a dun daddy does she? My filly had all those things and was just pretending to be a dun!! She still has the dorsal stripe but lost the webbing and barring.

Foals are so much fun to watch. Mine would chew on the twine that we had tied around our barn. It must be a foal thing to want to chew on stuff.

Also, if she is getting a tail like that it might be because she is a bit wormy. You can deworm her with some Panacur and her tail will go back to being flat. My filly had the same tail. But I am sure you know all this already....sorry.

She is so super cute!! And I love watching the videos you have of her playing around. She is super fast!!!

A girl I know had a foal with a few of those wavy "rippley" marks on his shoulder. His barn name ended up being Ripple.

Yalla may turn grey at a late age. We trail rode at a place once with a horse named Coalie Bay. Totally 'white' grey. He had been bay for *years* before he changed.

She is just like a child...everything goes in the mouth, LOL! Maybe she is teething? Say, do horses have baby teeth then loose them and get adult teeth? She is a doll, love the new header with her and her mama's picture on it!

Yalla! is a hoot. I love that she is like a human baby--curious and a little rotten. It will be fun to see what color she ends up.
