Someone Sees it All

Sandy loves to go out with me in the mornings and run around while I feed the horses. This morning we had a surprise- snow!

Sandy dug her face right in

and came up frosted.

While my poor wet horses ate their grain

Sandy bugged the neighbor's horse,

but Apache didn't care. She just wanted to roll in the fresh snow!

And roll again.

I like this photo of horse and dog looking off in the distance from over the other horses' backs.

But this last one is my favorite.

I was doing some backreading...I have no idea where the days go...and had to tell you, I used to love to watch Dennis Reis ride. When he came on the scene and was so into the 'Cowboy Dressage', I thought that was the coolest thing ever. I was always sorry I never got to attend one of his clinics. He was far and away a much better rider and trainer than most of the clinicians I have seen these days. But I often wondered if he was just too far advanced for the majority of horse owners today and that is why he has resorted to doing the same thing as everyone else now? Glad to hear you enjoyed it though.

Nice pictures. Sandy is definitely a great dog. It looks like Apache would like to join your herd - at least for a little while.

Ooooh! I love that last photo! Both because it has my pretty little mare, Apache and also because it has the beautiful Yalla!. Her ears are so tippy and dainty in that photo.

Looks like Apache was staring up at me in the barn in that one photo. I was laughing at her because of her funny little bucks and rears. She reminded me of a rocking horse without the rocker. lol!

I knew you and Lisa were friends but I didn't know you were neighbors. That's pretty cool.

Sorry to see you're still getting snow too. Love your pictures of Sandy, Apache and Yalla. The last two are really cute.

I love that last one too!

Is Yalla's bucket normally that high? I thought you fed your guys at ground level. It looks uncomfortably high, but that could just be the angle of the picture. Not trying to be judgmental or anything, just curious. :) I love seeing pictures of the beautiful girl.

Yeah, from the two Dennis Reis clinics I've been to, I mostly agree with his training methods.

Dan- Apache likes to stand down by my horses, especially in the mornings when I feed.

Lisa- Apache was really feeling good that morning, bucking and rolling and having a great time.

RR- Lisa is my neighbor. She is the one who got me into blogging.

Gray Horse- it can snow overnight and be gone by evening here so it's not too bad.

Achieve1Dream- Actually I change it up a lot. I have some large plastic tubs that I use to feed them grain at ground level or sometimes I'll just hold the tub for them to eat out of. I almost always feed the horses hay on the ground even though there is some risk of sand colic. It's more dirt than sand here fortunately. Yalla! seems to prefer eating her grain out of the feeder nowadays. She tends to chomp down on the sides of the bucket and spill it everywhere whenever she can.

Ahh cool that makes sense. I might try changing it up too. :) Keep them limber hehe. Chrome has gone back to pawing at his bucket, but not too bad. I think he feels threatened by the chickens. I really hope he doesn't get horrible about guarding his food. He lets me do whatever so I'm not going to worry about it. :)
