35 year ago, I was with a friend who was a male, he suggested we hitch a ride from Windsor to Canada. It was Winter, after 2 freezing hours, we called it a day.
My experienced hitch hiker friends said we were stupid, we should have :
1 gone alone
2: gone with same sex partner.
People don't pick up a couple.
In New Zealand, people hardly pick up hitch hikers, too dangerous.
