Hi I found your blog when i did a search "i just lost my job and i have knots in my stomach" I lost it yesterday. I dont know if you could say i was laid off it was more like i was let got. They said I did a great job and customer seems to like me but they have had complaints about me lately with in from other departments and with all the changes they have been making company wide they had to let me go. I was shocked. Now I have no money, no back up plan and i feel like a failure I lost my job and it was my fault. How do you deal with that?

Signed
a failure.

Hi Friendly,
You are not a failure!
It's a sign of the times. Lots of people are losing jobs. It's a big hit on your self esteem (I know!) but you have to just go on and not dwell about the "whys".
I sometimes have anxiety attacks thinking about the future but I find it is better to not think about it too much if nothing can be done to change it anyway.

Go file for unemployment. There are job centers to help you get a job. Talk to your employer for references. Go to temp agencies, like Excel, and online job sites like Jobing.com. Grab the paper and Craigslist and search for jobs. If you don't have a computer, use a friend's, go to the library, a local university or junior college.

The first thing I did was enroll in school. My assigned reading was The Grapes of Wrath. That will put your life into perspective.

Good luck, and keep your chin up.

Hi Fantastyk,

Thank you for your kind words and advice. I have already started the ball rolling. I am hoping for the best. I know what I have to do but its easier said than done. Its been a long year and even though the days pass by so quickly, It still feels like a long long road of ups and downs. Its very tiring. I will try to keep my chin up but its holiday season and I have no money. I know christmas is not about the presents but I love to give gifts and put a simle on someones face. It would have been easier with money. Instead I have decided to go through my closet and anything that doesnt fit me or I havent worn I will give to someone who needs it. I hope you are doing well. And I love bowie too. :)

Thanks again,
Friendly

That's a good idea to clean out your closets, Friendly. It's hard for me too, I've always spoiled my family at Christmas time.
Just keep the faith and BELIEVE that everything will work out for the best.

I really like your header with the full moon beaming in the background.

I also like Bowie...have about 5 "Albums" in the basement...need to get a reciver for my turntable. NOw that would be a fun question for a teen ager.."What's a Turntable"?!!
Just having lunch...going to the satable to help with froazen water and such...I will return!
