I wonder sometimes

Here are some photos I just received of the stallion I bred Annie with. This is Khemo (Kakhem Sahib) He's seventeen and often ridden around the ranch. And what a ranch it is, huh? This is three days after the Arabian Nationals show.

And here's some random shots of Annie.

I wonder what color the foal will be, most likely flea bitten gray, although I'd love a dark brown or bay.

I'll bet you'll end up with a dark brown or bay for at least the first few years. Hee hee. It's fun watching the grays change colors, though. My breeder neighbor had two gray mares and they always threw gray foals, so she bought Lostine at a repo sale and now all she has are chestnuts. It's fun riding Lostine at her place, because I can see all of Lostine's daughters, granddaughters and grandsons growing up.

hmmm, yes, probably gray. Annie was a very light steel gray with dark upper legs and dark mane and tail when I bought her at four. If it's going to be gray, I'd like to have a dapple or a "white" rather than the flea bitten for a change. Looking at her ancestry, most of the grays are white-grays rather than flea bit. Her dad was a bay; I wonder if that is where the flea bitten color comes from.

Hey Val!

The picture on my blog is called "Waiting for Master," by Richard Ansdell. I love it too!!!

So have you always had Arab's then? The stallion that you bred Annie to is very handsome! I can't wait to see the foal either. What breeding is Annie (Egyptian, Polish, Crabbett, Russian etc...)?

Have a great day!

Wow! I knew he was handsome, but after seeing these photos, my expectations are even higher for Annie's baby!

What a looker.....both Khemo and Annie!

(Come on baby, be a bay or dark brown!)
:)

By the way, my friend, I've got a little something for you on my blog. Come see!

PG- thanks for stopping by. Isn't he gorgeous? And great temperament too!
Annie is due about June 10. I have a countdown ticker just below her photo on the sideboard but you hae to click on it to see it.

Lisa- Thanks! I'm so excited! Although the chances of a gray are probably 95% after looking at her mother's history. She threw ALL grays!

Melanie, thanks for the info. I love that art!
I have had several Arabs but also Paints, Thoroughbreds and grade horses too. You inspired me to post just about Annie's family.
