Sunday Stills (Barns 4-25-10)

Here's a barn that I pass by on my way to my Mother's house. I love the character of the old building. This barn was in South Dakota. I took the photo on one of my road trips. What is the design on the front of this barn? We saw many, many barns with it in the Dakotas.
This barn was in Kansas. Doesn't it have character?
For more barns, please visit Sunday Stills, here.

I don't know why we are drawn to old barns! I always wonder about there history. I remember as a kid that was one of my favorite things to do, was play in the barn for hours. Your photo's are lovely!

Yeh, what was up with that design? Looks like an octopus was nailed above the door. lol!

The Kansas barn has an expression on it's face that says, "Oh wow! Have I seen a lot of tornados in my lifetime!"

An old barn like that one, in Kansas is treasure because you know it's survived a lifetime of tornadoes, wind and prairie fires.

These are all great pics. Great job!

WOW Val!
Those are all so diverse and wonderful!!!I wish I had the negatives of all the barns I used to shoot while growing up.

First thing I thought of with that wild design was elk/deer antlers? But after Bigifying it...nope..looks like tree branches-odd! Love the round pen and fences too!!
