Sunday Stills (11-21-10 Low Tech vs High Tech)

Today's challenge is Technology- old versus new. I decided to show the progression of traditional wooden pencil to mechanical pencil to calculator.

Then I thought about phone calls. At work, I have the old fashioned phone with handset, the newer cell phone, and now, Oovoo video conferencing on the computer. You can see me on the screen.

I was thinking of how not so long ago I was incredibly impressed with that "old fashioned" office phone. So many buttons. I still had one in my office and could never figure out how to use it. I had a lot of people try to video conference with me when I worked from home, but fortunately the laptop the company provided me didn't have a camera. I didn't want people to see me in my pajamas or sweats. Ha ha. If we were forced to use video conferencing while working from home, I'd have to wake up 15 minutes earlier each day to put some make-up on. Ugh.

I like both low and high tech. They each have their place.

I was actually thinking of the first cell phone - the bag phone. Then I had the very large cell phone that you wore on your hip! lol

Brenda, I had one of the big block phones installed in my car many years ago. Boy have times changed.

We do a video conference call every week at work. It's pretty neat to see the other people but I sure hate to see myself.

Your first photo is similar to one I wanted to post, sudoku book, and sudoku electronic machine.

Thanks for your concerns, sadly today there was a second explosion. All 29 are presumed dead.
